06 / FIELD NOTES

Before you head out.

Where should we build the town?⌄

Use broad, dry land away from a large ocean. New in Town warns against waterside settlements because generated events and attacks need space.

Do I need to download mods?⌄

No. This is a Paper server using server-side plugins and datapacks. Join with an unmodified current Minecraft client.

Will exploring lag?⌄

The 800-block launch radius was pre-generated. Very distant new chunks can still take a moment because the terrain is unusually complex.

Why does an item look ordinary on Bedrock?⌄

The server avoids requiring Java-only textures. A special item may look like its underlying vanilla item while keeping its special name and behavior.

Can strangers join?⌄

The server is currently unwhitelisted. Once the group’s exact Java and Bedrock usernames are collected, the owner can lock access.

What if we run out of things to do?⌄

Open the advancement tabs, advance the settlement, raise EliteMobs rank, complete the Nether campaign, then move into the extra dimensions.
